Mrs. Palmer’s Honey: A First Reading
Saturday, May 9th from 6pm – 9pm Central on YouTube
We are excited to preview our next original play as a live VIRTUAL reading.
Adapted by playwright Cassandra Medley, from the novel by Fannie Cook, the play is a rich depiction of how race, class, and worker’s rights intersected during World War II in the historic Ville Neighborhood in St. Louis.
This live table reading brings you behind the scenes (virtually) to watch it develop. What is a first reading? Watch this brief video
Directed by Kathryn Bentley, “Mrs. Palmer’s Honey” was originally scheduled to open in 2021 at the Missouri History Museum. But the pandemic created the “opportunity” to reimagine how to present the play. Watch for news and updates on how Bread and Roses Missouri will bring Mrs. Palmer’s Honey to live in 2021!
