Bread and Roses Missouri Seeks Director for 2022 Workers’ Opera
Bread and Roses Missouri seeks an experienced director to lead the return of our Workers’ Opera in 2022. Our Workers’ Opera is a live production consisting of a series of collectively written vignettes about issues that matter to working people. The diverse ensemble consists of union members and workers from across industries, who advocate for social change through art.
The Workers’ Opera drives change. Past topics have included raising the minimum wage, Medicaid expansion, immigration reform, and supporting the defeat of the so-called right to work in Missouri. Our community needs Workers Opera now more than ever!
Our next Workers’ Opera director will follow in the footsteps of notable St. Louis directors including the late Agnes Wilcox, Freeman Word, and Kathryn Bentley. We are looking for an experienced and creative individual excited to lead a unique process that involves people who may be appearing on stage for the very first time.
