Associate Artistic Director, Colin McLaughlin, is a playwright, musician, clown and social worker. He received his Bachelors in Social Work from St. Louis University. Last November, as part of the Workers’ Theater Project, Bread and Roses presented his play, Jailbird – the story of Eugene V. Debs’ presidential campaign from prison. McLaughlin’s next play, 740 Park, is a retelling of a Chilean folk song and a parable about the wealth gap. Colin has traveled to Peru with the Gesundheit Institute, a clinic/travelling circus, and has organized humanitarian clown trips to Guatemala.
