Emily Kohring, Executive Director, is a theatre artist, educator and administrator with more than two decades of experience in arts and culture leadership positions. Most recently she served as Executive Director of Artscope in St. Louis. Before that she was Director of Arts Education at the Montana Arts Council, where she led efforts in her beloved home state to advocate for access to arts learning for all Montanans.
Emily is a seasoned teaching artist and spent nine years as Education Director and Artistic Associate at Metro Theater Company. She is a practitioner of Theatre of the Oppressed and believes in theatre as a vehicle for social change. As a theatre producer, director and dramaturg she specializes in the development of new plays, and her work has been seen at Metro Theater Company and several other theatres around the country. Emily is an alumni and past faculty member of the Regional Arts Commission’s Community Arts Training Institute. She received her MFA in Theatre for Youth from Arizona State University.
